Very Rare Werner Biermann Vintage Rocking Chair For Arte Sano, 70s
German born designer Werner Biermann settled in Colombia in the 1930's and established a furniture factory which brought European and Scandinavian styles to South America. His son continued production of many of Biermann's designs into the 1970's and he exported to countries in Europe. Biermann's furniture reflects his European background, but with a fresh input of South American mid-century design. 1960's seating from Brazil and Argentina often included sling chairs and the use of leather and natural wood. These very rare rocking chair circa 1970 Biermann Colombian from the "Artesano" (Artisan) Collection have natural wood frames which suspend the slings and allow them to move and fit to any shape. The soft, thick seat and arm pads are super comfortable.
